Mayor Kathy Sheehan and Department of General Services Commissioner Sergio Panunzio have announced that Capital Hills Golf Course will be closing for golf for the season. The last day of play will be Sunday, November 14, 2021.

Mayor Kathy Sheehan Plants 1,000th New Tree as Part of 2,025 Trees by 2025 Initiative

1000th Tree Planted

Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan plants the 1,000th new tree in Albany since the 2025 Tree initiative began in the Fall of 2020. Since the Fall of 2020, the City of Albany has focused tree planting in Wards and neighborhoods where the urban forest is most at risk, including in the South End, Arbor Hill, West Hill, and Pine Hills neighborhoods. More than 50% of the 1,000 trees planted since the Fall of 2020 have been planted in these neighborhoods alone.

Mayor Kathy Sheehan and Department of General Services Commissioner Sergio Panunzio announced that Capital Hills Golf Course is opening for the season on Thursday, April 8, 2021. Golfing hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to dark, and weekends and holidays from 7:00am to dark.
